Marcia is a Forbes featured, Dyslexia Advocate who is also the creator and editor of the book "Black, Brilliant and Dyslexic" which showcases the lived experiences of xx dyslexic people. Her work has seen her named Top 50 Influential Neurodivergent Women in the UK and Winner of British Dyslexic Association Adult Award.
A retired CID detective as well as hostage and crisis negotiator, Alicia was the first black woman to hold the rank of Chief Inspector for Hertfordshire Constabulary. Alicia was part of the police for 30 years and is currently Associate Lecturer for the Open University and Board Member for Anglia Ruskin University. Alicia is the first ever recipient of the Life Time achievement for her contribution to policing and mentoring others and the award is named after the first Black police women to join the UK police.
A GP trainee, medical aesthetician, and all-around enthusiast for women's health and medical education. She is a perpetual student of life. In the GP world, every day is a whirlwind of patient stories, each one adding a new layer to her understanding of healthcare. Deborah is a budding medical aesthetician and is all about helping people feel confident in their skin, inside and out. Deborah's passions don't stop there. Women's health is her heartbeat; she's on a mission to demystify, educate, and uplift.
Laura Serrant, OBE is a British nurse and academic. A poem celebrating the Windrush generation that Laura composed was recited at the unveiling of the National Windrush Monument at London Waterloo Station. She was Regional Head of Nursing for North East and Yorkshire at Health Education England and is Professor at Manchester Metropolitan University. She has focussed on representing the voices of nurses and seldom heard communities, working to improve equality and diversity within the NHS and shaping national and international health policy.
